Learning habit 1: homework and deadlines
Completing work outside of lessons is important to consolidate and master learning. It helps students to develop their organisational skills and it shows that they are hard working. Homework deadlines must be met with work that is done to the best of their ability. Homework will be set regularly by subject teachers.
Homework and Deadlines at Dixons Unity means:
- returning all letters and reply slips within 48 hours
- completing all homework on time
- almost all homework is online and is set and due weekly in line with the schedule
- other homework will be set regularly by class teachers.
Homework is set and due on the following days:
Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday |
English | Science | Spanish | Maths | History |
BTEC Sport | RE | IT | Enterprise | Geography |
BTEC Performing Art | GCSE Photography | BTEC Art and Design | BTEC Health and Social |
Students can access all online homework by using the student portal which can be accessed from the top of the Dixons Unity website or by clicking here.
For Seneca, Sparc and Century Tech, students should use the same username (e.g. DUA12346@dixonsua.com) and password (e.g. Seven-Small-Turtle-22) as they use to log in to computers at school. For each site they should click the button identified below.
Homework that is to be completed on Sentence Builder can also be accessed through the portal but students should use the username and password provided by their class teacher.
The behaviour policy linked below gives full details of our recognition, learning habits and consequences.
