Unity Community Update and Winter Events Calendar

Since returning to school in September, the Unity Community has been busy working on ways to support and celebrate our community. Here, we will share highlights of our first term and our upcoming events for the next half term.

Recent Highlights

On Friday 4 October, the Unity Community welcomed locally based bed and sleep poverty charity Zarach into the Unity Community space to host their annual Family Support Market Place. Over the course of the day we welcomed more than 150 people from the community and professional organisations into the Unity Community and our visitors enjoyed fantastic music created by our student band.  Friday 18 October saw DUA's inaugural Culture Day. Students and staff embraced the theme and came to school in a huge array of outfits that helped to express the diversity of our incredible student community. It was a joyful day that culminated in a Global Family Feast in the Unity Community. Thank you to all the families who contributed to this event and came together to enjoy a shared meal.

Upcoming Events

We have a variety of upcoming events that we would love to see as many families as possible attending. On Wednesday 13 November Mr McCormack will be reprising his role as resident bingo caller in our Winter Warmer evening. £1 entry for adults includes bingo card and refreshments. There will be advice to help you get set up for winter and other freebies available. Saturday 23 November sees the return of our Winter Fayre. This year, we will have stalls, raffles, free wreath making, letter writing to Santa in a special elf-run grotto, and a £1 all-you-can-bounce bouncy castle. Our full programme of Winter Events is below:
