Principal's Update - 8 November 2023
Posted 8th November 2024
Dear families
Welcome back, I hope you had a brilliant holiday. I am so impressed with the attitude and resilience of our students this week - Monday was the best 'first day back' that we have had in the two years that I have been Principal!
I would like to say a big well done to our Year 11s who started mock season this with their Spanish speaking exams, they have worked hard to 'bank' this important part of their mock Spanish GCSE. This week was also our KS3 review week with 100s of meetings taking place to reflect on the successes and next steps of our students. This is a new initiative and I would love to hear your feedback on how it went. As normal we've had lots of sport this week with netball, football and basketball all taking place.
Next week is a short week for students due to staff training days on Thursday and Friday, therefore school will be closed to students on these days. It's an important first half of the week for Year 11 as they begin their written mock exams. Even though the school is closed to students on Friday, the Unity Community will still be open as we host our McMillan Coffee Morning - it would be great to see you there as we raise money for this brilliant cause!
Finally, an early reminder that Saturday 23 November is our Winter Fayre, more details will follow but please add this date to your diaries!
As always, I hope you have a great weekend when it arrives. See you soon!
Mr A Jacobs
