Principal's Update - 7 March 2025

Posted 7th March 2025

Dear families

This week has been a short week for students but we really packed in the learning and wider events so that no time was lost.

Firstly a huge well done to Y11 who began their mocks this week. Their conduct was fantastic. One small next step is to ensure that they are on time every single morning for the 8.30am exam. We've also had a number of football fixtures this week with mixed results but fantastic team spirit and engagement! On Wednesday around 40 of our students celebrated world book week with a book based party in the unity community and on Thursday a number of our Y10 students (on their day off!) competed in the Landsec challenge finals. It took great resilience and determination to stand up and present in front of so many people but you did us proud!

A big shout out too to all the students who have begun fasting this week, I have been impressed with your determination, hard work and commitment to your faith.

Next week our Y11s continue and finish their mock exams, we have a more careers events with our Leeds to Success programme. Y9 vaccinations (please make sure consent forms are completed) and another event in the Unity Community - next week we're planting seeds and bulbs ready for spring! The PE department are SUPER busy next week. rugby on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, football on Tuesday and a trip to watch Leeds Rhinos netball on Friday!

One final notice this week. We've noticed a slight increase in borrowed uniform not being returned. Mr McCormack is going to reach out to you next week to explain our policy around this so please do look out for that and ensure that any borrowed items of uniform are returned on the same day.

Have a great weekend, see you in the next update.

Mr Jacobs
