Kate Paddy
Vice Principal - Quality of Education
Kate grew up in Bury, Lancashire, and attended Tottington High School, and later Holy Cross Sixth Form College. She then attended Leeds University to complete a degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies; having fallen in love with the city, she has remained in Leeds ever since. Kate spent some time travelling around America and Asia, before becoming a teaching assistant in preparation for completing her PGCE. Kate has been an English teacher since 2007, working continuously in schools serving areas with high levels of economic deprivation. In her first three years of teaching she completed a Masters in Education, and then went on to become a Teaching Leaders Fellow.
Kate spent the first nine years of her career at Intake High School, which later became Leeds West Academy. During this time, she worked as a middle leader and later a senior leader. In her time as a senior leader, she has led on the development of middle leaders, Behaviour and Safety and also Student Outcomes. In September 2017, Kate joined Dixons Unity Academy as Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning.
Kate is proud to be part of the Dixons Unity team and is looking forward to developing teaching and learning whilst supporting staff, students and the community, all of whom richly deserve the success that Dixons will undoubtedly bring.
